After a look at the behaviors of Explorers that spend too much time out in space mining, I have to say get some company or something. Anything that can stimulate your brain rather than let it idly sit.

After extended periods of mining alone, Explorers tend to either...
A: Conduct songs that have no actual point.
B: Think up pet names for their favorite floating rocks.
C: Talk to themselves.
D: Become addicted to poproids.
E: Become convinced that every other ship is an Explorer is out to get them.

While this isn't the case with most Explorers, there's a fairly large percentage that do these things without even realizing it.
