Battling V'rix Behind the Lines

Although many warriors, traders, and explorers alike find the task of destroying V'rix to be distasteful at least (and dreadfully painful at worst), some warriors have found that not all V'rix are created equal.

In the Mondara Maelstrom, which pours forth wave after wave of the bugs each day into Primus space in Vega, Gunships and special teams venture into the shear each day in special strikes to destroy the weaker V'rix found therein, dubbed Marauders, and to kill the hounds that seem to be allied with the V'rix. Shear hives have long been speculated as being V'rix children that are in brood swarms within these giant organic in appearance areas.

In the Mazzaroth Shear, in Sirius too, pilots brave the killing fields of V'rix emplacements in order to crash their way into the home territory of the V'rix, battling their Helkos, Maxos, and brood swarms. The spoils of this intense combat are V'rix organic plating, modified devices fit for human use, and a sense of experience when dealing with the sometimes fatal "Main gun" of the V'rix, the smoking mirror attack.

To demonstrate the tactics of destroying their lower class ilk, this reporter ventured into the Mondara Maelstrom to raid the V'rix. Although it was a not-for-profit exercise, and a futile one due to their insurmountable numbers, it is now proven beyond a doubt that even these Primus taking bugs can be dealt with like the cockroaches of old Earth.

Further, new theories have arisen about the origins of the V'rix. Under the watchful eye of the tutors at the Indigo Homestead, this reporter has been speculating that V'rix are actually a severely mutated strain of Scuttlebugs that have found their way from the Bogeril home sectors in Alpha Centauri to the unusal dimensions that the Shears open to. Any contact with them can be concluded to be a hallucination on the part of pilots, and the Centuriata on Primus may be suffering mass hallucination due to prolonged gene therapy.

To learn more about V'rix and Scuttlebug contacts, this Reporter recommends capturing one of each, playing light jazz from old Earth, and locking them in a dimly lit room with one another.
