While taking a shipment of News to Trader's Fort in Ragnarok, I passed what has become a familiar site in Freya: the wreckage of thousands of Chavez ships. While normally such atrocities would lead to indictments for crimes against humanity, the slaughter continues without getting the attention of any of the primary factions. Nobody cares about the Chavez.

But who are the Chavez? According to one Red Dragon, the Chavez are the worst kind of villan. "People have some nerve calling [the Red Dragon] pirates, but if we get that title because we choose not to live life the same as InfinitiCorp or those rotten Progen, then so be it. But I'll be long dead in my grave if we are ever compared to those Chavez. They are the worst kind of scum with no honor at all."

Not satisfied with this answer, this intrepid Net-7 reporter sought out the leader of the Chavez, Miguel Chavez. "People don't even know what it is that we do," he declared, "we are farmers. Did you know that we grow the best sugar cane and tea in the galaxy on our hydroponic farms? What makes the entire galaxy think that we're nothing but trouble? We only fight to survive! And those stinking Red Dragons? I am tired of their lies!" When asked about the other illicit crops the Chavez Pirates have been accused of growing, Miguel Chavez flatly denied it. "I'm sure you have had your share of loot from our brother's ships before! Have you ever seen anything like that in our holds? No."

Chavez insists that one day his people will get the factional respect of the galaxy. Until then he proclaims that his fleet will continue to fight to protect their interests, even if it means that they all must die on the space lanes of Freya.
