Last night, whilst on a pest control mission with my good Friend Eskimojoe, this reporter was involved in an encounter that indicates a chilling development in the behaviour of the Ten-gu.We were in formation, warping to the Grissom Gate in Cooper sector having completed our work, when unbelievably I started taking hits from a beam weapon.
Initially, I assumed that some powerful beast was taking a pot-shot at me as we warped past, but when I checked my scanners I was startled to discover a Ten-Gu (system rated combat level 51) also in warp, 2k off my stern, shooting at me!
After realizing that there was no way I was going to outrun the creature, I dropped formation and warp, and moved to engage. My groupmate had clearly noticed that something was amiss as he also dropped from warp and headed back to my location. Good job too, or I would have had a significant problem trying to solo such a creature!
The question is this:
Is this an isolated incident or is it a precursor to something much, much more dangerous?
I, for one, hope that this particular fish was unique, and now that it has been slaughtered we will not see the like of it again, at least in my lifetime.
