Human space from one end to the other today stands on the brink of crisis. It has since the first V'rix Helkos appeared, and the situation continue to deteriorate. The V'rix attack on the Progen at first may have appeared as an act of self-preservation, considering the number of Progen who ventured into the Mondara Shear to kill V'rix at the now-missing Var's request.
Sadly, I can offer no such reason why the V'rix would have felt the same way towards the Jenquai. In an effort to better understand what may have prompted them, this reporter ventured to the Aquitaine sector to speak with the Ancients themselves. The sad result was to find out that the Ancients differ in opinion on the matter. So while the V'rix continue on a rampage in Jenquai space, there is little hope of stopping the V'rix from the one source that can call off this war.
With our home systems either in danger or already taken, with trade routes now in danger and the V'rix moving to take control of even the gates between the systems, it seems that there can be only one possible response. With property, trade, financial assets, and the lives of our entire races in the balance, can we hope for peaceful negotiations?
InfinitiCorp didn't get where it is without hostile takeovers. The Progen Republic carved out its niche by systematically forcing its oppressors to submit or die. Have the Jenquai not learned from Jove's the price of complacency? It is in our history, and we know what me must do. Let every guild leader, every faction, every planetside scientist bend their indomitable will to the one task at hand -- the removal of the V'rix threat. We can no longer stand by while this evil spreads like a sickness across the galaxy. We must step forward, seize every last sector, every last nav beacon, and concentrate on pushing this enemy back to its origin.
When we have accomplished this, let us set upon them in their homes until the last V'rix is dead, their homes in ruins, and their assets seized. Years ago, all three races fought for possession of an Ancient gate; now when so much more is at stake, let us unite. When the war is over there will be time for us to settle our long-held grudges, territorial disputes, and unpaid wierguilds; and if we should live long enough to do so, we will have accomplished enough.
In closing, let not any believe that they may sit idle. Only when the entirety of all three races have engaged our common foe can we hope to succeed. We are not faced with a being wishing only preservation, but one which wishes our demise. In such light, let us return what has been given, for in all of human space, whether Progen, Terran, or Jenquai, there is no longer neutral ground.
